MRM Nutrition Organic Red Beet Powder Review

MRM Nutrition beets extract pouchThe brand MRM Nutrition make a beet extract powder that is at the lower end of the market pricewise. But how does it compare on a cost per serving basis with similar supplements?

MRM Nutrition Red Beet Powder is made with USDA certified organic beetroot, which is a plus, but it’s much lower in weight versus competitors like Nutricost Organic Beet Powder.

Each 8.5 oz pouch of MRM Nutrition beet powder has just 24 servings and currently goes for $16.99. By comparison, Nutricost Organic BeetRoot Powder is much bigger and has 90 servings in the tub. It’s available here on Amazon for only a little more than MRM’s powdered beets.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  1. USDA organic, non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, and no fillers or additives listed on the nutrition facts label.

Cons

  1. The 8.5-oz product weight is lower than many of the brands in this guide to the best beetroot powders. MRM Nutrition’s red beet powder is around the same price as Nutricost’s alternative yet half the size.
  2. 10 g suggested serving size is relatively high but it works out to only 24 servings in the pouch.
  3. Customer complaints about this product’s packaging listing the country of origin as China.MRM Red Beets label

Customer Feedback and Taste

MRM Nutrition currently has a 4.4 star rating and, while the majority of customer reviews are positive, there are quite a few negative ones more recently.

Some examples:

  • “This powder had hard cloths inside the bag and was probably wet. Didn’t trust to consume it.”
  • “Package was opened. Beet powder all over. Quite the mess. It appeared powder had been in contact with moisture as there were solid chunks.”
  • “Great to add to smoothies. However, be very careful opening bag as this is a very fine powder and it will fly everywhere.”

MRM Nutrition Beets Powder Verdict

MRM Nutrition is a popular brand and I’ve taken their supplements before. There’s enough negative customer feedback on this product’s quality control though to think there’s a problem with it. Many consumers were also rightly concerned about China being the country of origin for this beet power.

Overall, I just can’t see why anyone would choose MRM Nutrition over Nutricost’s USDA organic beets, with their strict third-party safety and purity testing, and double the organic beetroot powder for around the same cost.

Humann SuperBeets Energy Plus Powder and Zen Principle Organic Beet Powder are two other better powdered beetroot products versus MRM Nutrition Organic Red Beet Powder. Fresh beet juice is still the best though if you have time to make it.
